What's this, another DoL character!? Yeah...kinda.

See after the main story, "Descendants of Lengends" , ends, it leaves open room for more stories. So ~Danyasaur and I have kinda been tossing around ideas, and have dubbed the after-stories "Legends of the Descendants".
In the main story of DoL some mythical creatures make appearances, but in LotD they really are the main focus.

One such mythical creature is the Selkie pictured above, Saoirse (pronounced SEER-shuh). The group meets Saoirse sometime after the main story, and though she will often join them when they are on water related quests, she does not join the team on a permanent basis.

Selkies are mythical creature that are Seals when they are in water, however when they come out of the water they can take their seal skin off and become human.

Funny story, when I was browsing around for a name for her, I had two or three names I picked out. My favorite one was Saoirse, chatting with ~Danyasaur I decided to go with that one. It was right after I decided that when I was browsing around for more info on Selkies when I found that there is an upcoming cartoon about Selkies, and one of the main Selkie characters is named Saoirse. I was going to change my character's name cause I don't want to look like I'm copying, but ~Danyasaur convinced me not to. I still find it funny and weird that out of all the names I looked, I choose the same one. ]8|

Oh wow a Selkie character! They are such under-appreciated mythological creatures so it's great to see more of them on DA. My first introduction to them was the movie The Secret of Roan Inish. Heh, I love her little grin, she seems kind of mischievous/playful in a way, I also love her eyes and how they clue you at her seal-like nature. :heart:

Yeah, I had never even heard of them till a couple of weeks ago.
It is called "Song of the Sea" it is done by the same people who did "The Secret of Kells" (an animated film I highly recommend). Here is the teaser trailer for "Song of the Sea" [link]
